After working all week it’s great to look forward to a little pamper time. Unfortunately some pamper session will be shorter lived then others. That’s why you need to choose things that will make the time you do have feel like a spa weekend away. And sometimes all it takes is an amazing candle.
One day me and my close friend took a walk around Greenwich Market in South London. It’s a great place where you can find scrumptious street food and amazing little bespoke stores. We came across one of them that we just had to enter. In this store of wonderment I stumbled across some candles that (gasp) I have never used before. My friend started gushing so much, that I thought she saw a tiny elephant in the room. She loves, I mean LOVES, elephants. That’s how excited she got. I was like calm the fuck down and tell me what is so exciting. And she said that these candles that I happened to be standing in front of were the best thing since sliced bread. Her reaction alone had convinced me and after I smelled one, I was sold for life. So I bought my very first Yankee Candle and I haven’t looked back since.
These bad boys are the best thing at the end of a tiring day at work. I come home take off my shoes and light a candle. They are so good that at times I forget that I even have problems and stress that I have to deal with. I’m not going to lie though, some scents that they’ve created are really pungent. But when they get the smells right, boy oh boy, do they get them right! My favourites are Lemon Lavender, Vanilla Lime, Amber Moon, November Rain, Midnight Jasmine and Honey Blossom. They are literally the best scents that my nose could inhale. And I know my nose loves me for it.
The one down side is that they don’t come cheap here in the UK. But that is the price I have to pay for awesomeness!
So tonight, even though I am spending a Saturday night home, alone, with some sappy movies and a bottle of wine (a bit stereotypical isn’t it?), I feel serene nonetheless. I certainly love chilling on my own with some really good fragrant smells encompassing me and my soul. Fantabulous!
